This product is incredible. It’s everything you would want it to be, solid, well-built, and looks incredible. It works exactly as you would expect, I put it on my Suburban and havne’t heard my hitch make a peep since. I bought another one for my gold cart trailer where I mounted a receiver hitch on the floor (with some C-channel underneath to strengthen the wood) and I can put my ATV receiver hitch tray to go on the gold cart, and put one of these anti-rattle collars on that receiver too. Then, I put an anti-receiver collar on my Evolution D5 Maverick golf cart receiver hitch so when the tray is in, it is peaceful and motionless. This thing is amazing. I feel like I should be on the Anti-Ratle Hitch Collar marketing team but honestly, this thing is legit. Already brought 3 of them if that helps seal the deal if you have read this far…. Took pics of Sub, annd cart, trailer isn’t ant house. Also have to give shout out to etrailer team who are really good at communications. 5 stars for sure.

Haha I mean if it were up to me, I'd make yo some kind of partner for marketing for sure! Thank you so much for the glowing review and sharing all the ways you use it. Really feels good knowing there are folks who really like the collar.

It's great so far, got rid of the clunking from my hitch. It is a pretty close fit on my Ram 3500 with the B&W hitch on the closest hole, but it does fit. I did have to grind out a relief on the back side of the hitch for the knob to clear, but it works. The Rock Tamer fits if you use the second hitch hole and it doesn't bounce around with no load on the hitch anymore. Overall, I'm very happy with the product so far, way better than the other hitch silencers I've purchased in the past.

by:

I bought two of the anti-rattle hitches one for each of my trucks. I put it on my big truck today Tuesday and I'm glad I bought two of them because they are really good and easy to put.

This product will absolutely stop the rattle on your draw bar. One word on the installation, snug it to your hitch fairly firmly, but don't over tighten it. Next, install your draw bar to the hitch, then turn the handle on this product to tighten the draw bar into the hitch. Once you have the draw bar tightened, then go back and finish tightening this product onto your hitch. It works like a charm.

Thanks for the tips, Robert! We appreciate it!!

These things are awesome and leagues above to typical bolt-on flange types, which are annoying to remove and reattach. I recently took at trip with these and did some Cat 4+ wheeling over some rocky terrain replete with mud and pot holes. I have two on both front and rear hitches. One carries a large hitch basket and the other a HitchFire swing arm cargo table with gear. While the camper in my bed got tossed up a bit, both hitches remained secure and rigid. Very impressed. Build quality is excellent, easy to install and change out implements. They feel solid and sturdy, will likely last a lifetime.

These are some awesome pics, Clarence! you really took it to the test. I was also curious about your in bed camper and just had to look it up, they look pretty awesome! Happy camping!

Excellent product! It works great for my Honda side by side where I added a spare tire rack to the hitch however I will need to get an extended pin lock for my main hitch on the side by side and my Honda Ridgeline pickup as the shorter pin lock hits the the collar and will not work. All is good and is easier to remove the hitch versus getting your 3/4 inch wrench to undo the other type of anti rattle apparatus.

That's a great idea, Mark! I also like that you are using the alignment collar too. How often do you take your side by side out?

I've looked at
several anti-rattle devices over the years but never liked any one of them to buy one. They just look like they're too much of a hassle and I would probably use the ones that I've looked at once. But when I saw this one, I knew I was going to buy it. I think the cost is a little high, but I would buy it again. It's well built and a snap to use. Installation was easy and I like the fact that it is intended to be left on the hitch. Well done etrailer

We are super grateful for any feedback and I appreciate your honesty! Thanks for sending in the photos with the different attachments -- great material for a helpful review. :)

by:

Used for one trip, bottom screw head broke off and it is now worthless. If you are using this on a lower clearance vehicle, don't bother. Item seems overly hefty for its intended use. There are cheaper, less intrusive options on the market. You'll also need to pay attention if you use a locking pin in the hitch. Make sure you can fully access the key before locking. I don't recommend it and would not buy it again.

by:

I purchased this Anti Rattle hitch device, and it looked like a good product but found out after using it one time it did not seem strong enough to do its purpose, and I had to tighten it up several time during the trip because of the metal wearing down as you can see from the photo. I returned it under the warranty and am waiting on a replacement one. I am hopeful that maybe the original one was just defective metal and that's why it wore out so quick. I think the design is good but the one little piece of metal that clamps down is insufficient. Will see how replacement works out and update review.

by:

I received an advanced delivery of this amazing product. I have already used this a lot because I have a dual ball hitch and flipping over to the other ball is super fast and easy - no tools required and it clamps down solid. Same with my hitch step, it locked down all movement! 100% recommend!

by:

Great product. Been waiting a long time for something like this to come out on the market. Had to get a longer hitch pin so that it clears the device. Would have given it 5 stars if the bolts was stainless steel bolts. Was seeing surface rust on the bolts so I replaced it with stainless bolts.

The hitch rattle use to drive me crazy. This totally solved that issue. Installation was quick and easy. I did have to remove one of the brackets due to the tow chain connections. Nonetheless I got it on tightened it down. No problems. I recommend this anti rattle e-trailer device.

That rattling sound is now a thing of the past! :)

by:

This thing is solid! Noticed a difference when hauling my sxs. Prior to having this anytime I would brake/stop I heard that nasty hitch rattle, it also felt unsafe. Towed about 4k lbs to Utah yesterday without any issue. I did have to rotate it once counter clockwise due to my hitch being in the way of tightening the thumb screw. Overall very happy with the minimal look of it and the functionality.

by:

It seems to work well. Had to use the alternative installation with the tightening knob at the top right rather than at the bottom. After installation, the hitch is solid and does not rattle. One negative is the pin is tighter and harder to get through. I had to hammer the pin in so I could get the lock on it

@Ramsey I talked to our team that designed this and they said that if you insert the pin/lock first and then tighten the anti-rattle, that should alleviate the problem :) Let me know!

I'm impressed with your anti rattle product. It works really great with my bike carrier and I'm really liking not having to use a wrench anymore to stabilize it. I've been clamping my hitch plug with it too.

by:

I looked at several anti-rattle devices but never cared for the operation and/or appearance of most. And then, I came across this great product. I was looking for one that could be left in place, work effectively and with an aesthetic appearance when hitch removed. So, when I saw this one, I knew I had to have it. It's well built and easy to use. Installation was easy and I love that it is intended to be left on the hitch. There is absolutely no rattle from the hitch with this device. It fit my 2026 Honda passport RTL and looks great with hitch out and receiver hitch cap inserted. I only tow a trailer 2-3 times a month, hence I wanted a clean, unnoticeable, aesthetic device when not towing. Highly recommend this product! Thank you etrailer!

by:

In less than two weeks and under 1100 miles, the Anti Rattle Hitch Collar broke. The knob no longer tightens the gate, it just free spins. This collar is probably suitable for bike racks, but definitely not a travel trailer. Very disappointed.

by:

this anti-rattle device is such a clean install instead of the traditional ones that you got a store. This one store is on your hitch and works beautifully thank you E trailer!

by:

Thought this was going to be the best thing ever.
After our first trip this weekend I'm disappointed.
Twice I had to reset the unit as it slides out of the pinch area of the hitch shank.
Trying to keep it tight enough the one side bent the dowels. See attached pic. Also, the pinch slide began to peen from the hitch shank banging it because it wouldn't stay tight.

by:

So far it’s worked perfectly! Super easy to install and is really handy to be able to change out hitches with a twist of a knob. Will definitely be purchasing a few more for the rest of my vehicles!

@BrookeM Sorry, I just saw your response today. I really never look after I sent in The pictures and the product is still working great yes that was my dad‘s Escalade one of three and on the back of all of his SUVs. He had military stickers to promote each of the services different family members have served. my dad was a marine his dad Went to Harvard Harvard law school in 1920 was a major in the army in Washington in the legal department my grandmother‘s brother served on the PT 109 with JFK and many of my mother‘s family many many years ago in New York City were either police or fireman and my dad also had a retired service dog so that’s why my dad many many years later would always memorize them with the different Service stickers on each of the back of his vehicles as I Also do the same tradition on the back of my Tahoe. Thanks for asking but it’s just a way to say thank you to everyone who serves lost my dad in 21 but the tradition still lives on many years later thank you.

by:

So my first impression after the installation is very good. I did have to turn the collar 90 degrees so I could install my locking draw bar pin. Once I did that install was a snap! I hooked up my boat and made a quick trip around the neighborhood to test it out, and was pretty impressed with the lack of noise and clunking I experienced. After twin the boat a couple of miles the thumb screw did start to loosen up, and I noticed just a hint of rattle. I used a pair of pliers to add just a touch more tension and that seemed to help. I think if you don't do that you may run the risk of the thumb screw backing out on a long tow. I see the reasoning behind the design, but for me I think I would prefer a nut to get enough tension so I wasn't worrying about things getting loose and coming apart. I do think the overall design and ease of use is outstanding! I guess the best endorsement I can give is that I plan to purchase another unit for my motorhome also. As always shipping and customer service is top notch!

  • Which Anti-Rattle Clamp Is Best For Electric Bike Rack To Keep It Stable?
Hey there Lisa, hope you're having a great day. So you actually brought up a really good question. The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2" Hitch Receivers # e38FV uses a gate that comes down and makes contact with the shank of the bike rack or ball mount, and this will not interfere with the hitch pin that is included in some bike racks, such as with the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches # Y88DJ. The etrailer clamp will be more effective in stabilizing the...

  • Can etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar Work When Towing Travel Trailer

  • Does the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2" Hitch Receivers Have a Weight Limit?
No, Thomas it does not have any weight limitations. The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2" Hitch Receivers item # e38FV attaches directly to the lip of your vehicle's hitch. Doing so allows it to limit the movement of the ball mount or accessory. It does not affect the ability or capacity of your vehicle to pull a trailer. Hey Randy! The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar item # e38FV does not come in 2-1/2" but I can still make your F-350 happy. A comparable option for a 2-1/2" receiver is the B&W Anti-Rattle Clamp item # BW65FR. This also connects to the lip on the outside of your hitch and tightens down to keep your ball mount from moving around. I have linked an installation video below so you can see how to get this clamp set up.

If you need an anti-rattle device for a 2-1/2" hitch we do have the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-062 or the Blue Ox Immobilizer # BX88225. Both are U-bolt style ant-rattle clamps. just comment below and let me know if you have any questions...

  • Will The Wing Nut On The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar e38FV Come Loose Over Time?
Hey Gary, thanks for reaching out. When using the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e38FV, you will want to check the wing nut every time you tow. Anytime you change accessories, or load/unload you will want to check and make sure it is tight. As long as you do this, you will not have to worry about it coming loose unexpectedly.

  • Will the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar e38FV Work w/ Rock Tamer Mud Flaps?
Yes, it will but you'll need a minimum of 2" between the edge of your hitch receiver and the back of the ball mount face. The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar item # e38FV extends out 3/4" from the edge of your hitch receiver, this includes the allen screws. The collar on the Rock Tamers item # ERT00108 attaches to the ball mount and is 1" wide. What you'll want to do is insert your ball mount without the Rock Tamers or a hitch collar installed and measure from the edge of the receiver...

  • Will etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar Fit etrailer Magnetic Reducer Sleeve
Hi Spike; great question! Unfortunately, the face of the # e28JR is too wide for the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e38FV to fit. What kind of accessory are you trying to use? If it has a hollow shank like the B&W Tow & Stow # BWTS10048B a better solution would be an anti-rattle hitch pin like the # SHP2040-XL.

  • 2" Hitch Adapter for use with 1-1/4" Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack
Hey Alex, thanks for reaching out! I can recommend some parts to get you where you're wanting to go, but just so we're all on the same page, Thule does not recommend using an adapter with the 1-1/4" Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH23JV - they say you have to remove and replace the lower assembly with part # TH37MY which makes it compatible directly with a 2" receiver. The lower assembly is almost the same price as a whole new bike rack though so you can either sell your current one and...
